For my blog, I came up with the idea of listing my 12 favourite Christmas songs.
For my blog, I came up with the idea of listing my 12 favourite Christmas songs.
There are a lot of great bands out there today who write some great ballads. So if you’re looking for some inspiration during writing time, or are a reader who enjoys hard rock, here are some recommendations from my own personal playlist.
I did a post on my favourite ’80s power ballads. This time I’m listing the best grunge ballads from number one to twelve.
After doing a post about my favourite heavy metal ballads, I have to include power ballads from the 80s. I’m more of a “b” side kind of lady, so my list isn’t filled with popular songs. I have quite a few, so this is a list of twenty.
I enjoy spooky vampire movies. So I thought I’d do a post about the best songs, in my opinion, about vampires and Dracula.
In my last post about heavy metal ballads, I mentioned the song by Disturbed was a cover. Sometimes a band does such a great job putting their own stamp on a tune that it blows away the original. Here are a few of my faves…
Being a die hard music lover, I thought I’d do something different by listing my favourite metal ballads.
I previously did a post about memoirs/autobiographies written by the ladies with the band. For this post, I’m going to recommend awesome books about the rockers in the band, whether memoirs, autobiographies, or biographies. Read on to find out which books kept me up late at night.
Being a die-hard music fan, I enjoy memoirs and autobiographies by groupies and WAGS (wives and girlfriends)–the lovely ladies who inspired many of the songs we love. What about those who work in the music industry or became part of the band’s inner-circle? They’re included, too, because these gals kicked some serious ass. Have a …
Being a total music junkie (yes, look at my blog posts because the majority are devoted to music), I can listen to just about anything, although my preference is metal and hard rock. Through Sissy, I was introduced to sixties rock, sixties girl groups, and Neil Diamond. Uh huh, my seventeen-year-old heroine digs Neil. So …
And maybe your antagonist’s, too. I’ve always seen a certain meme going around called: What is your theme song? Although I don’t have one–unless Don’t Worry, Be Happy counts, heh—I’ve always had one for my hero or other major characters in a novel.
Yes, I thought I’d take a quick break from my NaNo project in order to blog. This is my second year and I’m ahead of the game at 31,356 words so far—or something like that (I’d have to check). According to the NaNo stat thingie, I should finish on November 23rd. Would be nice. Hopefully …
One perk I love about drafting a novel is figuring out what interests my characters, such as movies, music, clothes, etc. For NaNoWriMo, I’m drafting Always (working title for now). Taking place in the 80s, Lisa is a spunky chickie who is loyal to her girlfriends and all about showing some skin. Her philosophy is: …
It’s been awhile since I did a music post. So far I covered songs about unrequited love, break-ups, triangles, and cheating. Today, I’ll focus on something more positive. The title says it all. As I did in my previous posts, I won’t go for the obvious. There’ll be no Endless Love, Unchained Melody or anything …
Some of my fave romances fall into this category. He loves her, but she’s with him, but that certain him isn’t very good for her. The Last American Virgin comes to mind when I think of unrequited love. It was a cheesy eighties movie I can recall watching. The ending threw me for a loop. …
Heroes, they come in all shapes and forms. Max Rockatansky from the Mad Max trilogy doesn’t want to be anyone’s saviour. A simple man, he desires to survive in a wasteland world and nothing more. Hero? Companionship? No thanks. His blue heeler is sufficient company. Then there’s Kyle Reese, a brave, intelligent, and dedicated fighter …
As a fellow Canuck, I must say Shania didn’t mess around when she asked this question. In some romances, not all, but some, the protagonist either cheats, is cheated on, or finds him or herself in a love triangle. As I did before, I’m not trying for the obvious and will provide a YouTube link—if …
Music to write a sad break-up or a strained relationship to.
