Being a die hard music lover, I thought I’d do something different by listing my favourite metal ballads.

10.  I thought I’d start with something old skool.  Here is Before the Dawn by Judas Priest.  Rob Halford is one of my favourite singers.  I was even lucky enough to see this band in concert back in the day.

9.  Up next is Flotsam & Jetsam’s Escape from Within.

8.  I love this song.  Metallica’s The Outlaw Torn is great if you’re writing an anti-hero.

7.  This is a cover but I love Disturbed’s version of The Sound of Silence.

6.  This song is gorgeous.  If you’re writing something about forbidden love, Megadeth’s Promises is great for inspiration.

5.  I can’t do a list without mentioning Pantera.  Here’s Cemetery Gates.

4.  This is is plain beautiful.  I give you Testament’s Return to Serenity.

3.  I could only find live versions of Ozzy Osbourne’s Fire in the Sky, so there is no video for you to view.  If you get the chance, check out this song and buy it.  It’s one of Ozzy’s best.

2.  Here is Nevermore’s Believe in Nothing.

1.   My favourite ballad from my favourite band.  I give you Megadeth’s Addicted to Chaos.
