What’cha Watching?
My last two posts focussed on British and Canadian television. For the third installment, I’m blogging about American TV. I’m in dire need of recommendations because there is only one current series I’m watching. So please help a Canuck out.
Some of the shows from the States I’ve watched faithfully over the years are: Cold Case, CSI, CSI: Miami, Law and Order: SVU, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Quincy, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Little House on the Prairie, and The Love Boat.
Yeah, I have a penchant for murder mysteries and enjoy some sci-fi.
As for the show I’m loving at the moment: Fire Island.
Here is the blurb from IMDb: Located south of Long Island, Fire Island is a popular vacation destination for members of the LGBTQ community. This reality series, which takes its name from the location, showcases what life is like on the island for vacationers. The show follows some young professionals who live together in a beachfront house for the summer. While there, they search for the romance, temptation and thrills that have made Fire Island a popular tourist destination for decades. Khasan, a dancer who has performed with the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna, is at the center of the house. He has invited some of his friends to Fire Island to help him decide whether to move from Los Angeles to New York to be with his boyfriend. The friends helping him make the decision include photographer Brandon, model Cheyenne and artist Justin.
This originally aired on Logo TV in April, but I’m watching an encore presentation thanks to E-Canada. Kelly Ripa and her hubby Mark Consuelos came up with an awesome idea.
I tried watching Elementary, but couldn’t get into the series for some reason. I think it’s because the Brits did too good of a job with Sherlock.
