Welcome to my nineteenth post for Muse Monday. It’s a chance for a character who inspires me to guest on the blog. Last week, you heard from Bebe Boshey, the career-driven, powerhouse heroine from my short story Dressed for Success. This week, we get to hear from Alden Campbell, her sexy silver fox box. Check out what Alden has to say.

I find someone very attractive. Extremely attractive. Too attractive for my own good at my age. I’m speaking about the woman I hired two years ago, who is in her early thirties. A go-getter who didn’t just join the market; she rewrote the local registry. She’s my top agent now. Savvy but helpful. Ambitious yet caring. Sassy with the claws of a newborn kitten. She’s everything I could want…but she’s my employee.
Head desk.
I want to show her the ultimate respect she deserves. Even though I wish to know more about her, I don’t dare pry into her personal life, for Bebe is a very private woman. At work, she makes it a habit to join in the office fun, but she also knows when to step back to keep her life as professional as possible.
I did not want to feel this way about her. Goodness, I have two children who are in university.
Now we are set to go on a business trip together. I want to keep this as professional as possible, but that suave agent from the neighbouring Ojibway community in Sault Saint Marie is making this very difficult because he’s hot on Bebe’s trail…
****

Two wounded-in-love go-getters must decide if they’ll break their personal rule that cost them so much in the past by mixing business with pleasure.
Divorcée Bebe Boshey flees her Ojibway community for the city of Thunder Bay to begin anew, landing a great job that affords her an independent lifestyle she covets and a great condo. Best of all, her silver fox boss thinks the world of her. She can’t help her attraction to him, but office dating is a huge no-no.
Divorcé Alden Campbell is tired of spending his nights alone. And he’s also quite uncomfortable about his feelings for his ace real estate agent, Bebe. Even though they are strictly professional in their daily dealings, the sizzling chemistry ready to boil over between them is enough to shake him with fear, because he’s been there and done that.
While they’re on a business trip together, a crafty playboy pushes Alden into making a big decision that might cost him dearly—pursue Bebe and break his rule of business-only, or let Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome work his charm on the one woman Alden wants to call his own.
