Blurb: CeCe Campbell wakes on the asphalt of a mall parking lot with two missing years and a body that no longer feels like her own. Infected with the Kill Virus on her 18th birthday, she’s among the first to be cured.
Rehabilitation teaches CeCe how to walk, how to speak, how to exist in a world rebuilding itself, but it cannot return what she lost. Her mother is dead. Her brother is missing. And the last memory before the dark is a bite she cannot escape.
When CeCe unexpectedly meets Derrick—the boy who infected her—she’s torn between anger and a strange, undeniable connection. Derrick doesn’t remember what he did. CeCe does, and the truth of that moment is something he’ll never get. Not when he already took everything from her.
But if there’s to be life after the cure, CeCe will have to unwind the past, face what happened the night that bound them together, and decide if love and forgiveness can heal wounds deeper than the ones left by the undead.
Love and Other Cures for the Recently Undead is a haunting post-apocalyptic love story about guilt, survival, and choosing connection in a world where nothing can be undone.

Someone twitches beside her.
Stop it, Teddy.
CeCe’s brother was always messing with her when he wanted her to get up. Usually he just poked her in the eye.
This was new.
She goes to push him away when her arm catches on as phalt. The shock jolts her awake. Her heart pounds as she opens her eyes to blackness. A tart, overwhelming stench of rot fills her nostrils. She blinks, trying to focus, but her eyelids itch like they’re brushing sandpaper.
Where am I?
The last thing she remembers is being in downtown Chico at Mason’s Restaurant, celebrating her eighteenth birthday with her best friend, Leyton.
Were they in an accident? What happened?
“L…L…” she croaks. Her throat is stiff, crusted shut from lungs to larynx. “L…Ley…”
A strained whimper answers.
Leyton? It has to be her.
She gropes the darkness. Each breath is a burning, terrified gulp. She drags herself closer to the noise until she presses against someone’s back. She hears it again.
Leyton? Are you okay?
She can’t tell who, or what, it is. Her fingers prickle, half asleep, sliding blindly over skin and fabric. Her palm brushes cropped hair—a man’s—and she lurches back. Her muscles scream as she knocks into another body, motionless, rancid with death. A wail erupts nearby, then another. And another.
She tries to move, but whichever way she turns, flailing arms and legs crush her. She curls into a ball, her sobs dissolving into the cacophony of crying, shrieks, and an unseen mass that slithers and moans around her.
