Book Hooks is a weekly meme hosted by Marketing for Romance Writers as part of the MFRW Authors Blog. Readers can jump from one author to another who share hooks from their current WIP (work in progress) or any previously published books.
For this week’s edition of Book Hooks, I give you a teaser from my upcoming release, Sons of Sinners, a dark MC m/m romance. Don’t forget to check out the other book hooks from participating authors HERE.

One was built to be a weapon. The other was born to be his salvation.
Blurb: Reluctant biker prince Sloan is trapped in a brotherhood that would execute him for his secret trysts with men. Sick of wearing a mask, he is escaping to British Columbia, but his plans are dashed when he’s caught in the crosshairs of a predator—Ajax, the lethal War Chief whom Sloan secretly craves.
Ex-con Ajax wants out of the Ojibway street gang that raised him. With three bodies to his name, he is the Syndicate Skins’ most feared weapon and the reason his uncle tasks him with kidnapping the rival prince for a hostile takeover of Winnipeg’s North End. When Ajax abducts Sloan, he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to break the handsome biker. But the only man Ajax burns for proves to be a formidable force, capable of penetrating the War Chief’s stone-cold armour.
When the ransom is refused, Sloan’s survival depends on a desperate gamble, forcing the two adversaries to give in to the explosive tension building between them. But to secure their guaranteed happily-ever-after, Ajax must turn on the uncle who raised him, and Sloan must gut the father who betrayed him—or the future they are running for will be destroyed in a single night.
CONTENT WARNING: Sons of Sinners is an intense, high-stakes dark M/M romance. It contains graphic depictions of captivity, power imbalances, severe physical assaults, survival sex, and explicit on-page violence. This book also features racially charged dialogue and gritty, street-accurate slurs to reflect the raw animosity of the fictional gang war. These terms strictly belong to the world of the characters and do not represent the views of the author. Reader discretion is strongly advised.

Fiddler kept his piece trained, and Sloan kept his Glock out, his chest constricting.
“I hear your boys have been picking up some attitude with my patches. That true?”
Uncle Toad reached inside the bag and grabbed a mouthful of fries that he shoved between his thin lips. “Nope,” he said while chewing. “You’re mistaken.”
“You make sure the proper respect is always shown.” Fiddler waggled the gun. “Maybe the Warriors are getting tired of being stuck on the outskirts of the blocks. Maybe they want a chance to sit in your chair.”
Pride inflated Sloan’s chest. Nobody could talk someone down like Fiddler.
Uncle Toad picked up his hamburger. Leaning in, he took a big bite, chewing loudly and noisily. “If you want a bunch of weak pussies who couldn’t even wage a war running the blocks, this club will go under in a month.”
“Not under my watch.” Confidence oozed from Fiddler’s voice. “Don’t forget who allows you to run this place. Just as Monster gave it, he can take it away. And he ain’t happy when he sniffs a bit of attitude. If you’re planning anything—”
“We’re not planning nothing.” Uncle Toad bit into his burger again, a sliver of ketchup running into one of his marionette lines. “I think your Prez is getting a bit paranoid.”
“Oh, this didn’t come from the Prez. This came from my boy who monitors your blocks. And if he tells me he smells something raunchy, I take him at his word.”
When Ajax’ gaze shifted from Fiddler and zeroed in on Sloan, Sloan made sure to meet the War Chief’s lethal eyes. The heat wouldn’t dissipate, and the longer Ajax assessed Sloan, starting from his boots, sliding up his legs, resting on his midsection, and then trailing to his face, he became a man being stripped bare.
Shivers broke out on Sloan’s arms and legs, and his crotch went from warm to scorching hot. Ajax’ assessment wasn’t sexual but predatory, maybe even a warning.
Fiddler lowered his piece and backed up two steps. “Monster only gives one chance. Just one.” Using his left hand, he nudged Sloan’s chest. “Grab the tax. We’re done talking to the help.”
Sloan reached across and lifted the duffel bag from the desk while Uncle Toad kept eating. As Fiddler left the office, Sloan continued to flash his Glock, making sure to back out. He kept staring at Ajax, who had resumed spinning the cylinder on his revolver.
Yep, something was going down. Big time.
These two weren’t going to heed Fiddler’s warning.
