Golfer

Fore!

This weekend is the last of the four majors of the season–the PGA Championship.  But don’t worry, there is still plenty of competitive golf to be played, such as the Fed-Ex Cup on the PGA tour, the Race to Dubai across the pond on the European Tour, and one of the biggest events coming up in September–the Ryder Cup.

Bellerive Country Club in St. Louise, Missouri is hosting the 100th PGA Championship.  That’s right, this fourth major is celebrating its centennial birthday.

As always, anyone who is anyone in golf will be there.  Since I’m not anyone in the golfing world, I get to watch from the sofa, haha.  But I’ll be enjoying every minute of the game.

Anyway, here are my fantasy picks:

From the European Tour’s fantasy game, I chose the following:

Rory McIlory (Northern Ireland)  *****
Justin Rose (England)
Tommy Fleetwood (England)
Russell Knox (Scotland)
Henrik Stenson (Sweden)
Jon Rahm (Spain)

The ***** means I get double the points if Rory wins.  And there’s a good chance one of the greatest golfers of the game will secure that trophy because Rory’s back in action, placing in the top ten at big events.

For the PGA Fantasy, I went with the most consistent players.

Dustin Johnson (USA)
Marc Leishman (Australia)
Rickie Fowler (USA)
Brooks Koepka (USA)

Sitting on the bench, waiting to come in and play in case one of my four picks mess up are:

Austin Cook (USA)
Tony Finau (USA)

As for the PGA One and Done, I chose Beau Hossler (USA). He doesn’t quite have the experience yet, but he’s an up and comer to keep an eye on.

For Golf Channel Fantasy, I went with:

Justin Thomas (USA)
Jordan Spieth (USA)
Gary Woodland (USA)
Charley Hoffman (USA)
Kevin Chappell (USA)
Luke List (USA)

For the Golf Channel Fantasy One and Done, I chose Xander Schauffele (USA).

I’m pleased with my picks.  Hopefully, I’ll finally win a prize haha.
