Fore!
aka The Open or the British Open is the oldest major golf tournament. This week, everyone who is anyone in the golfing world is at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.
I love playing fantasy golf (no, I’m not a gambler LOL) for my own fun. I don’t expect to win a prize from the PGA, European PGA, or the Golf Channel, but it’s always a hoot to see if I picked the right golfers to win or do well on the leaderboard.
Here are my picks from the following tours:
For the players on the European Tour…
Patrick Reed (USA)
Russell Knox (Scotland)
Alex Noren (Sweden) **** (double the points)
Tommy Fleetwood (England)
Paul Casey (England)
Jon Rahm (Spain)
The PGA…
Justin Thomas (USA)
Dustin Johnson (USA)
Jordan Spieth (USA)
Rickie Fowler (USA)
Russell Henley (USA)
Golf Channel’s Golf Fantasy…
Marc Leishman (Australia)
Charley Hoffman (USA)
Matthew Southgate (England)
Chez Reavie (USA)
Kevin Chappell (USA)
Emiliano Grillo (Argentina)
Patrick Cantlay (USA)
Once I meet my word count for the day, and get my housework done, I’ll be tuning in to watch The Open. That is why I rose with the birds this morning. Already, I completed my workout.
My fantasy picks are for golfers who I think will win. It doesn’t mean they’re who I want to win haha. I’m waving the pom-poms for Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods of the USA, Australia’s Jason Day and Adam Scott, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson, Hideki Matsuyama of Japan, and the USA’s Jason Dufner.
Why didn’t I pick these gentlemen for the fantasy golf? Because I’m afraid I’ll jinx them! LOL. If you’re watching the Open Championship, make sure and let me know.
