Welcome to my eighth Muse Monday post. It’s a chance for a character who inspires me to guest on the blog. Today, we have Hunter, the strong and courageous warrior from Twisted Beauty, an enemies to lovers m/m dystopian romance. Check out what Hunter has to say.

All I’ve known is Voodoo Canyon. All I’ve known is the rules set by our elders. All I’ve known is the people here, my people, the Lakota. I believed in everything about my community. Believed until I met…Chassis.
He has me questioning my beliefs. I don’t want to question them, though, but I have no choice since what he says makes sense. I put all of my faith into my lover, Justice. But Justice’s touch isn’t the same anymore. His words, which once led me to nod in agreement, now have me wanting to shake my head, telling him he might be wrong. Everything isn’t black and white. There are so many shades of grey.
Is it Chassis’ handsomeness that’s made me question everything? Or maybe it’s what’s inside of him—his quiet strength, the fact that he possesses integrity and is more than a marauder, and even the mercy he can show others. He isn’t just a killer taking lives to survive out here, far beyond the city walls.
Maybe there’s a part of me that longs for the adventure and freedom Chassis possesses. He doesn’t have the insurmountable responsibilities that I do. All he has to worry about is himself.
Even though he may be an enigma, I am peeling back the mystery, finding out maybe he is lonely and might need someone.
I’m at a crossroads. My community or a man they think of as their enemy.
****

His community or his enemy. He can’t have both.
Deep in the badlands, long after the fall of modern civilization, Hunter patrols the area as the war chief for his Lakota community. His latest mission is to hunt down a marauder who robbed his neighbors of their precious goods. He’ll act as this man’s judge, jury, and executioner.
Having lost everything at his former Ojibway encampment, Chassis is far from home. He wanders the badlands, a grim reaper bringing death to those with what he needs to survive. But there is one man courageous enough to challenge him.
When the duo faces off, neither expects the sizzling chemistry to erupt between them, nor for their duel to touch what both have denied themselves. Now they must choose to either remain together and sacrifice their beliefs, or go their separate ways, losing what they’ve spent their lives searching for—love.
