For this edition of First Kiss Friday, I am sharing the true first kiss between Billy Redsky and René Oshawee from Two Princes, book one in the When We Were Young series, a young adult, m/m contemporary romance.

To win over the chief’s haughty son, a drug-dealing punk from a dysfunctional family must risk the only two things he has: his reputation and freedom.
Blurb: Billy Redsky, a rebellious punk who loves art and nature, is saddled with a welfare-leeching, alcoholic mother and criminal older brother who are the joke of their Ojibway community. Sick and tired of being perceived as a loser, Billy deals drugs for his older brother to earn quick money. He hopes if he buys a dirt bike, he’ll finally impress the chief’s popular and aloof son, René Oshawee.
When the two are forced to serve detention together, a friendship begins to bloom, but much to Billy’s frustration, René keeps putting him on ice. To make his biggest dream come true if he finally wants to call René his own, Billy must make a huge decision that could cost him everything.

“It wasn’t that hard, was it?” Billy stood in front of René, his hand on the pool table.
“You’re getting bigger. Thicker.” René’s gaze moved up and down.
“I’ll be as big as my bro one day.” Billy ran his finger along the green felt and almost touched René’s hand. Warmth seemed to reach out and touch his own hand.
His heart quivered. He laid his palm on the back of René’s hand. “Don’t dump me, please,” he whispered. “Can you give us another chance? I’m not gonna tell anyone. My mouth’s glued shut. We’ll stay a secret until you say otherwise.”
“Are you sure this is what you want?” René’s voice was a puff of cotton balls—as was his gaze. “I’m carrying more baggage than the bus you were about to board.”
“I know you’re not gonna make it easy. But if I’m willing to try…” Billy rubbed his palm along the back of René’s hand.
René lifted his free hand and cupped Billy’s cheek. The heat of his skin was a dozen electrifying jolts saturating Billy’s flesh. Their fingers tangled, a light grip confirming René wouldn’t let go this time. His palm remained on Billy’s face, and he was coated with an unexpected kiss gentle enough to melt his shaking bones.
The temptation to finally and truly touch René tugged at Billy. He kept sliding his lips along the most delicious taste of cream soda he’d ever experienced. He drew his fingers through René’s silky hair. Trembling, Billy molded his mouth deeper against René’s. When the kiss became smothering and searching, his head spun.
The tip of René’s gorgeous tongue flicked at Billy’s closed mouth. The spinning and reeling almost toppled him over. He parted his lips, shaking, and was sucked into wet, hot flesh. Forceful strokes overwhelmed him that danced and caressed his own tongue. His groin tremored, his skin prickled, and nerves buzzed.
René’s heavy breaths, and even a sweet mmm was enough to melt Billy’s bones.
