For this week’s edition of Fun Fact Friday I am giving you five fun facts about His Proposition, a contemporary, interracial, billionaire romance.

I’ve never written a billionaire romance before, so I challenged myself to come up with one starring an Indigenous heroine. Here are five fun facts:
- Because the majority of my novels are set in First Nations communities or somewhere in Northwestern Ontario, I wanted to travel to Toronto and let the characters use Canada’s biggest city as their playground, so this is where the majority of the novel takes place.
- I love Banff. Just love that place. I’ve been there twice. So I had to take my main leads to Banff where Séamus Daugherty makes his proposition to his driver Shannon Nadjiwon.
- Just like in a previous post, this novel started out as category length, but I found the character arcs needed to be longer for a believable change to happen, so I decided 50k wasn’t suitable and found 70K the perfect length.
- Race is an important topic in this novel, along with the effect discrimination has on people’s lives. It isn’t just the heroine who faces it, but also the hero.
- I debated whether to make this a series because Shannon Nadjiwon (the heroine) lives in a townhouse with her two besties: one is a free-spirited, happy-go-lucky electrician and the other a mistrustful, cynical tow-truck driver. But I decided to stick to a one-off instead because I had too many other projects on the go.
